It’s been crickets around here lately, due to the craziness that is our life. I’ve been updating Instagram regularly, so if you follow me there, not all of this is news to you, but I wanted to fill the rest of y’all in. So if you need a coffee of wine refill, now’s the time, before we settle in for a good old fashioned catch up.
I’ve mentioned over and over on my instagram that I’m trying to work out more frequently and improve my strength and flexibility. Getting in shape is seriously hard work, but it’s really rewarding. Still though, some days it’s really hard to drag myself out of bed and to the gym, and I’d guess most of y’all can commiserate, so I wanted to share some things I’ve found helpful along my quest to become all fit.
The wind farms outside of Palm Springs are some kindof gorgeous.
Palm Springs is pretty much a dream. I’ve blogged about it before (we’ve celebrated my birthday and lots of weekends there) but it really is one of my happy places!
While we were in New York for Fashion Week, I had a crazy list of places I wanted to try. Vivi Bubble Tea, home of the cotton candy float, was one of them, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
The drought has been so bad here in LA the past few years, but we’ve finally gotten some rain this last week, and I’ve been welcoming it. I love any excuse to bust out my pink Hunter boots!
Most of you dear readers also follow me on social media, so during New York Fashion Week you probably got exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpses of my fun collab with Walgreens.
I love the holiday season- it’s fun and festive, with plenty of time with friends and family, and most importantly? Lots of excuses to get fancied up!
As a little girl growing up in the NYC suburbs, my favorite field trip of the year was when my class would visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. So it’s no surprise that I still love it as an adult- my mom and I spent nearly a whole day there this summer. And though David doesn’t adore museums the way I do, an afternoon at the Met was the perfect respite from a very rainy day during our last trip.
It was just a bonus that it gave me one more look at this year’s Costume Institute exhibit, ManusXMachina, right before it closed. Fashion in the Age of Technology honored designers and the intricacy of couture workmanship, and it may well be my favorite museum exhibit ever.
When it comes to the holiday season, I think the hardest people to shop for are the men in our lives. Husbands, boyfriends, dads, brothers- it can be so so impossible to decide what to buy, and tempting to take the easy way out and throw video games and gift cards in their direction. Wanting to branch out just a little, I’ve done some browsing and online shopping, and these are some of my favorite guy gifts this season.
