gift guide: $5 stocking stuffers and sussies

I looove a sussy- an inexpensive little gift.  These are perfect if you’re putting together a bigger gift basket, for “favorite things” parties, or stuffing stockings. These are the type of things I keep on hand in the gift stash, gift to neighbors, to tape onto a card or add to a gift card or another gift as a little upgrade. I’ve seen some stocking stuffer gift guides clearly written by people with much bigger budgets than me 🤣, and good for them! But this one is for the rest of us normal people- these items are petite on both the size spectrum and price point- small enough to stuff in a stocking, and all are around or under a $5.

Mini wet brushes work as well as the full size- perfect for keeping or gifting. We use a lot of Mrs Meyers products around here, and their hand soaps are a go-to gift for me. Basil is my all-time fave scent, but I love this winter’s seasonal, snowdrop. Honest hand sanitizer is the only inexpensive one that doesn’t destroy my hands, and smells so good. This French-milled soap is impressively luxe quality for the price- I like gifting sea salt, lemon verbena, and lavender scents. And laundry balls are such a good sustainable household choice.

These adorable succulent pushpins are plant lady approved, and this little spoon rest couldn’t be cuter. I switched to silicone reusable muffin liners this year, and am converting everyone I can. Anyone who online shops will appreciate the deftness of these miniature boxcutters– I’m obsessed. And I’m over ugly chip clips for the counter, so these wire clips are such a lovely upgrade!

You’ll notice that some of the above are multiples, and that’s one of my favorite ways to make gifting more affordable.

The skincare or beauty gift sets that are instore for the holidays are ideal to break down into individuals, like these jelly lip glazes from tarte. Some things I think are best matched with an add-on as a complete gift. I snagged some of these pots from etsy and am going to fill them with a dollar succulent from the farmers market. I love doing a few of these bamboo spreaders with a homemade jam or a chunk of nice cheese (or homemade challah if I really love you). And these silicone skincare brushes are the best for applying masks and products without waste, and perfect paired with a mini or travel size of a mask (pixi glow mud here).

Hope some of these little wonders are able to help you stuff some stockings and bring some joy with your holiday gifting purchases!

love, Ravayna
